Hormone analyses for studies of primate reproduction, sociality, and health.
Our objective is to conduct hormone analyses of human and non-human primates in order to address questions of sexual selection, reproduction, development, and health and provide training and research opportunities for graduate and undergraduate students. Specifically, we are interested in examining the effects of testosterone, estrogen, progesterone and cortisol on male and female mating strategies and behaviors across primate mating systems, as well as the effects of various hormones on variation in maternal and paternal care of offspring, and patterns of philopatry in several primate and non-primate taxa.
